Whitewater
Rescue Technician 2 (WRT2)
2 course days

This two-day course builds on the skills learned in either SRT1 or
WRT. The WRT2 course concentrates on further developing advanced
water skills, including: managing the rescue scene, litter management,
and the utilization of teams. There is also a mock night rescue scenario.
Whitewater Recue Technician 2 (WRT2) Equipment requirements:
- full wetsuit or drysuit
- lightweight water or kayak helmet
- USCG Type III or V approved lifejacket/PFD
- hiking or work boots
- leather gloves
- waterproof flashlight or headlamp
- whistle
Prerequisites:
- 18 years of age or older
- adequate health insurance coverage
- basic swimming ability
- being in good physical condition
- completion of SRT1 within the previous 3 years
- if working toward meeting the requirements for
the NFPA 1670 Standard for the areas of water and rope a certificate
from a recognized technical rope rescue program
